Letter from the Editor
Hello,
I’m Laura Butz the founder of Eco Chic Cayman an environmental blog based in the Cayman Islands. I started this blog a couple of years ago to bridge together my passion for writing and conservation. My hope, is to in some capacity help to make a difference. To inspire others, to use their talents whether it is writing, photography, film, or art to raise awareness about issues that matter to them.
I have been fortunate to grow up in the Cayman Islands. A paradise, surrounded by the wonderment of the Caribbean Sea. Living in the Caribbean has instilled in me a tremendous love for the ocean. The ocean is my favorite place in the entire world. Having access to crystal clear waters and some of the world’s best diving places in the Caribbean is a blessing. We are all connected to the ocean— it links us all together.
I have been fortunate to travel and see an array of beautiful places. Every country has their own precious ecosystems and indigenous species that are worth protecting. A commonality we all share is the need to preserve and protect the places in nature we hold most dear to us.
