Poetry, Art + Saving the Planet

Recently, I was listening to the song Dream Catch Me, by Newton Faulkner and it reminded me of my many trips to Australia.  I love how songs can transport you back to different places you have visited and times in your life.  The lyrics of this song ignited inspiration in me, to write.  It’s been a long time since I have written anything.  A passion of mine is writing poetry and short stories.  As for the blog, sorry everyone, that I haven’t made any recent posts until now.  I guess it’s best to write when you are inspired and can produce quality writing.  Writing that I hope will inspire. Some years ago I was humbled, when a poem I wrote was featured in a local news paper for Earth Day.  I’d like to believe that when writing or producing art in any form, it is not just for the sake of creating art, but to inspire and make a positive difference in the world. Weekend Bucket List- For the rainy days

I have made up a short and sweet weekend bucket list just for the rainy days.  It has been pretty much non-stop rain and as nice as rainy days can be they can also put a dampener on your weekends especially when all you want to do is go to the beach or enjoy the outdoors instead of being coped up in a house all day. Weekend Bucket List for the Rainy Days                   1. Play! Take a break from technology (laptops, ipads, and cellphones -go off the grid-) and breakout those boardgames and card games and spend some quality time with friends or family. 2. Paint! If you are an artist, allocate some time over the weekend to catch up on painting, drawing, pottery, even writing whatever it is you love to do.  Be creative! Clearly, I need to take some time to finish this painting not really sure where it’s going but will be interesting to see where it goes.  If you aren’t an artist, …
