Natasha Kozaily: Serenading Renegades… Singer, Artist and Environmentalist

Photo Credit: Courtney Platt and Natasha Kozaily Today I am pleased to announce that the highly anticipated sophomore album Serenading Renegades by Natasha Kozaily will be released on 25th September, 2013! This summer I was able to catch up with Natasha and talk about her upcoming album and passion for the environment.  The inspiration for this album as Natasha puts it is, “a love story beginning to end, with other imagined narratives.  A lot of it is personal.” For as long as I have known Natasha, she has always been a talented artist, inspiring to those around her, free spirited and concerned about the environment.  I love that Natasha has incorporated her passion for the environment into her love for music.  All of her songs are beautifully written, rich in layers, and straight from the heart.  Some songs featured on the album are “The Tiniest Elephant In The World” which was based on a short story of hers.  “A Song About A Tree” written one day while Natasha sat down at her piano and …

Happy World Elephant Day! xo We cannot afford to lose Elephants.

Today is World Elephant Day! So please give some love to elephants, by being a voice for them and raising awareness. Elephants are by far one of the most majestic animals  roaming the planet.  Sadly, these beautiful animals are being hunted and killed for their tusks at an alarming rate.  More than 12,000 elephants are poached each year, primarily in Central Africa (World Wildlife Fund) Looking back, in the 1930’s there was an estimated “3-5 million African elephants” the population since then it has depleted drastically as presently there are an estimated “470,000 – 690,000 African Elephants” (World Wildlife Fund).  It is heartbreaking to see such an amazing animal become endangered, furthermore it is hard to stomach the thought that if we continue to lose elephants at alarming rates we may lose them completely.  I cannot imagine a world without elephants. It is imperative that there is a global effort to stop the illegal poaching of elephants for their ivory tusks and the loss of their natural habitat.  I implore everyone to do their part to …

Elephant love…

I love elephants! Back in Toronto I came across this amazing organization called “Mr. Ellie Pooh LLC.”  They are an eco friendly, fair trade company and make products such as paper and exotic gifts using elephant poo. Fact: “Mr. Ellie Pooh’s paper products are 100% recycled.  They are made up of 50% fiber from elephant dung and 50% post consumer paper.” (http://mrelliepooh.com)  This is such a great initiative and I believe it will help create awareness about the elephant conflict in places like Sri Lanka, where unfortunately elephants are being killed at such an alarming rate.   The fact that their paper products are “100% recycled” this allows for a wonderful eco friendly option for paper.  Did you know? “50% of the world’s forests have been cleared or burned, and 80% of what’s left has been seriously degraded.” Choose to be eco friendly and consider purchasing products made from elephant dung and recycled materials to help the environment and bring awareness to the endangerment of elephants around the world. Here are some of the lovely items produced …
