City Lights & Skylines

Poetry month is almost over.  A little while ago, I took the Poetry Saturday Challenge by My Happy Coincidence.  Unfortunately, I missed last week’s post, so here it is.  Better late than never.  This poem is inspired by the love for art, and wandering through cities. I hope you like it. The photos are snapshots of Boston, one of my favorite cities. Enjoy! with love, xo

Natasha Kozaily: Serenading Renegades… Singer, Artist and Environmentalist

Photo Credit: Courtney Platt and Natasha Kozaily Today I am pleased to announce that the highly anticipated sophomore album Serenading Renegades by Natasha Kozaily will be released on 25th September, 2013! This summer I was able to catch up with Natasha and talk about her upcoming album and passion for the environment.  The inspiration for this album as Natasha puts it is, “a love story beginning to end, with other imagined narratives.  A lot of it is personal.” For as long as I have known Natasha, she has always been a talented artist, inspiring to those around her, free spirited and concerned about the environment.  I love that Natasha has incorporated her passion for the environment into her love for music.  All of her songs are beautifully written, rich in layers, and straight from the heart.  Some songs featured on the album are “The Tiniest Elephant In The World” which was based on a short story of hers.  “A Song About A Tree” written one day while Natasha sat down at her piano and …

Poetry, Art + Saving the Planet

Some years ago I was humbled, when a poem I wrote was featured in a local news paper for Earth Day.  I’d like to believe that when writing or producing art in any form, it is not just for the sake of creating art, but to inspire and make a positive difference in the world. Art is an incredible gift and absolutely fascinating.  I think of …

What the tides brought back…

Summer days  always seem to be filled with spontaneous fun.  For a couple of weekends now, I have spent some time roaming the hidden and tucked away beaches on a scavenger hunt for beach treasures.  Sauntering barefoot along the coast of the eastern side of the island, soaking in the summer warmth and salty sea breeze, with only the sound of the waves rushing up onto the shore and then racing back into the hands of the sea, is probably one of my favorite things about summer.  I remember as a child, I use to spend hours looking for sea-glass and seashells.  I have yet to discover a message in a bottle, its one of those random things on my bucket list, who knows if I will ever find one.  Sometimes, I really contemplate writing my own message in a bottle and seeing where it ends up.  I think what is most fascinating about the whole idea, is the journey of a message in a bottle, and the story that unfolds once you find one or …
