FORCE BLUE: A Call of Duty to Heal the Ocean

I had the honor of meeting U.S RECON Marine Sergeant Rudy Reyes and listening to him share his story about his experience as a former combat diver and now a veteran on a mission to help protect and restore the marine environment. I cannot truly capture in words how profound his story is or the eloquent way he spoke about his life’s journey. Nor, can I begin to fathom the magnitude of the experiences he has been through and endured as a combat diver. All I can humbly offer is that listening to him speak with such humility, eloquence and passion I was incredibly moved by his words and a part of me was changed forever by his heartfelt story. His life’s journey has lead him to a new call of duty, dedicating his life’s work to empowering other Special Ops veterans to join FORCE BLUE’s conservation efforts to help restore critical marine ecosystems around the world. While on his first trip to the Cayman Islands two years ago, diving off the shore of Sunset …

We Rise By Lifting Others

Today’s blog post is in celebration of World Women’s Day 2017.  It is all about women coming together to empower one another.  We can accomplish so much together.  One of the best lessons I have learned, is “don’t compete, collaborate”.  There is room for all of us.  That being said, we still need to put in some time and effort into our work.  We can come together as a team, a support system for one another and collaborate.   So many beautiful things can come from collaboration.  I am so very thankful for the wonderful friends I have in my life.  They all have such beautiful souls and are inspiring.  I love watching them be bold and live out their dreams. We have the best time when we all come together to collaborate on projects: creative sessions, photoshoots, filming featurettes, writing content, editorials, sharing blogging tips, and business tips.  We brainstorm together and the inspiration just flows.  We all find ourselves motivated, inspired and empowered.  We all have our own talents and areas of strength …

A Kind Note…

Happy Kindness Wednesday! As you know Project Words Of Kindness is all about sprinkling more kindness into the world.  In honor of Valentine’s Day, which is just around the corner, I thought why not change things up and send “Kind Notes” instead of Love Notes?  A kind note comes from the heart, and is designed to put a smile on someone’s face.  Be creative and heartfelt.  Surprise someone this Valentine’s Day with a kind note. Below are the kind notes I will be passing out this Valentine’s Day.  To keep things eco-friendly, I have printed double-sided on each card.  One side has  the PWK mission statement, and the other has a little note with an inspiring kindness quote.  Each card has a different quote.     Have fun creating your kind notes! with love, xo
