Snapshots of the city…

Hello from Toronto! Traveling back and forth is always fun for me, as I simply love traveling and living in different places.  Recently, I have been able to test out my new camera, and take some great photos with the help of one of my very good friends.  I had a fantastic day exploring the city of Toronto while taking photos with a friend of mine who is an amazing photographer!   Today is a bit of a short but sweet post.  I just wanted to share with you some eco friendliness I found while running around the city taking snapshots of everything that interested me. Eco Friendly Transport! Love to see that there are a lot of people in the city using bicycles to get around, and how cool is this bike! It has a repurposed wooden crate to carry stuff.  Just awesome!  It’s a tree hugger’s bicycle!    Here are some snapshots of nature merging with the city.   I just love stumbling upon beautiful parks in a city, surrounded by historic buildings. …

Eco Documentary: Fragile Cayman

Photo Credit: Michael Maes (Spotted Eagle Ray) Yesterday I had the privilege of watching an incredible Eco Documentary called Fragile Cayman directed and produced by Michael Maes, a fellow environmental enthusiast.  Michael  is also a diver and photographer extraordinaire, here in the Cayman Islands.  His short but powerful documentary, which was featured in the Cayman Islands Underwater Film Festival of 2012, is comprised of  absolutely stunning cinematography and a montage of incredible shots, which truly capture the essence and beauty of our ocean- specifically in Cayman waters.  The scene with the stingrays at Stingray City was just lovely! The Spotted Eagle Ray just gorgeous, my absolute favorite scenes. For me, it was like watching a silent movie, just a story told through motion pictures accompanied by instrumental music.  Watching the film you can’t help but question, why on earth would anyone not want to save the environment and protect the ocean.  Just watching the amazing footage you are completely mesmerized by the fundamental beauty that is our ocean and the marine life which resides there.  …

Summer Essentials: Beach Days, Road Trips & Travel

If you’re like me you love summer days! So far summer has been pretty awesome.  One of my favorite things to do is to take photos.  I love photography and experimenting with different filters and camera/video apps.  Taking photos isn’t just about capturing a moment so a memory can last a lifetime, or freeze a moment in time forever, it is also a means of expressing yourself creatively and in some instances capturing the natural beauty of a place. I think of all the places I have traveled to and of course my home is probably my absolute favorite place in the world.  Regardless of where I am in the world taking photos, is my way of taking a piece of that place home with me.  More than that, I have come to find that the more I take pictures of the beautiful landscape of my home or other places, I realize how beautiful this world is and how important it is to fight to save the planet and work towards finding solutions for todays …
