I’ll Drink To That… DIY Chic Chalkboard Paint Repurposed Bottles

Over the weekend I found some time to work on some eco art projects.  I had a fantastic time!    Here is another eco chic way you can repurpose your wine bottles and glass jars.  Confession, this may have been one of those catch 22 art projects.  On one hand, I tried to be eco friendly by repurposing the glass bottles into chic decorative pieces for dinner or birthday parties by painting them in chalkboard paint.  Yet, the chalkboard spray paint may not have been so eco friendly. What you will need: chalkboard paint, chalk, wine bottles or glass jars. Easy Steps:  1. When the last bottle of wine or Champagne was been finished off, and all that is left are the remains of a legendary soiree or spectacular birthday party, one can always find a creative way to be eco friendly.  Perhaps even throw an eco art project after-party… Save up all  your Wine/Champagne corks for a rainy day project or a day you feel inspired to take on some DIY Eco Art Projects.  I have come up with 2 ways that corks can be repurposed into functional, eco friendly items.  The wine corks used for these art projects were saved up over time.   This week I wrote about recycling glass in Cayman, today I would like to share ways to repurpose glass. Glass Jars Instead of tossing out a glass jar that use to store spaghetti sauce or peanut butter, think of creative ways that you can repurpose those jars so that they have a functional value.   Here are some ideas… 5 Repurposed Glass Jars Ideas 1. Recycle glass bottles in Cayman at Camana Bay

Some great news Cayman! If you haven’t heard already…. You can recycle your glass bottles at the Camana Bay Recycling Center!! They also recycle cans.  So if you can’t repurpose your wine bottles, glass bottles and jars then please don’t discard them to only end up in a landfill, instead drop them off at the Camana Bay Recycling Center. Glass Stats & Facts: 1. Glass bottles dropped off at the Camana Bay Recycling Center are recycled into building materials. -Pretty Awesome- 2. The recycling machine at Camana Bay can crush 1,500 pounds of glass per hour. 3. Glass represents 10% of all the waste generated in Cayman.
