Spreading Christmas Cheer: Goodwill To All

christmas cheer jpeg

A wonderful way to grant some Christmas wishes and spread some holiday cheer is to make a donation to a local charity or volunteer your time in helping them with their efforts to make a difference in the world.  In the words of Winston Churchill, ” We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”  This Christmas consider supporting and raising awareness for these wonderful local charities working towards making the world a better place, and improving the lives of so many people.

Below I have listed some wonderful local charities-  I wanted to highlight these charities and help raise awareness for them.

Cayman’s ARK: Acts of Random Kindness

This year I was delighted to help Cayman’s ARK by donating a bag of goodies for their charity drive at Camana Bay.

Feed Our Future

You can help make a difference in the life of a child.  Their mission is simple, it’s “to provide children in need school meals.”  Did you know? “Current statistics show that over 20% of the enrolled Government School population for the Cayman Islands are being provided Government assisted lunches.”

The Cayman Islands Diabetes Association

This is a cause very close to my heart.  I am honored to be a part of the organization and work with them.  The mission of C.I.D.A. is, “Work towards a future without diabetes by creating awareness, providing education to our community; while improving the lives of diabetics and their families.”

The Alzheimer’s and Dementia Association of the Cayman Islands

Their mission:

“To raise awareness within the general public about the various dementias with a focus on Alzheimer’s while diminishing the stigma that currently exists;
To educate carers on how to interact and properly care for people with dementia; and
To be a source of support for people with dementia and their carers and family members.”

The N.C.V.O is “dedicated to the care, education and well –being of children and families in need of support in the Cayman Islands.”  The N.C.V.O runs a foster home, pre-school and nursery, as well as other programs designed to help children in need.
