Recently, I was listening to the song Dream Catch Me, by Newton Faulkner and it reminded me of my many trips to Australia.  I love how songs can transport you back to different places you have visited and times in your life.  The lyrics of this song ignited inspiration in me, to write.  It’s been a long time since I have written anything.  A passion of mine is writing poetry and short stories.  As for the blog, sorry everyone, that I haven’t made any recent posts until now.  I guess it’s best to write when you are inspired and can produce quality writing.  Writing that I hope will inspire. I’ll Drink To That… DIY Chic Chalkboard Paint Repurposed Bottles

Over the weekend I found some time to work on some eco art projects.  I had a fantastic time!    Here is another eco chic way you can repurpose your wine bottles and glass jars.  Confession, this may have been one of those catch 22 art projects.  On one hand, I tried to be eco friendly by repurposing the glass bottles into chic decorative pieces for dinner or birthday parties by painting them in chalkboard paint.  Yet, the chalkboard spray paint may not have been so eco friendly. What you will need: chalkboard paint, chalk, wine bottles or glass jars. Easy Steps:  1. I bought some chalkboard paint in a spray can.  It was easy to use and pretty cheap.  (I purchased it at AL Thompson) Confession, it may have not been the most eco friendly choice, but I could not find one that was made with eco friendly products.  I felt it better to buy the spray can version as opposed to a can of chalkboard paint.  The spray can had the amount I …

When the last bottle of wine or Champagne was been finished off, and all that is left are the remains of a legendary soiree or spectacular birthday party, one can always find a creative way to be eco friendly.  Perhaps even throw an eco art project after-party… Save up all  your Wine/Champagne corks for a rainy day project or a day you feel inspired to take on some DIY Eco Art Projects.  I have come up with 2 ways that corks can be repurposed into functional, eco friendly items.  The wine corks used for these art projects were saved up over time. Painting until the sun rises…  For the nights I find myself an insomniac and remedies like a glass of warm milk or counting sheep won’t help me fall back asleep- and yes I have tried them – I choose to paint.  For me the best thing to do when I am restless and wired with a sudden burst of energy is to immerse myself in creative projects, like painting, writing or scrapbooking.  From when it was just minutes to midnight, to almost the breaking of dawn, I let my music play and I listen to all the artists bearing out their souls. I harness any inspiration or sparks of creatvity and just paint.  Granted I am purely just an amateur  when it comes to painting.  I love experimenting with different abstract ideas.  Personally, I am drawn to earthy colors like 50 shades of blue,  greens, a sea of turquoise variations, and every now and then I like to mix in some gold. Vinyl Records, Summer Days + the ticking of a clock

  Only just recently have I gotten back into a mood of putting my records on and letting them play, (in reality it is my iTunes collection of music playing from my iPod or laptop) I can’t even remember the last time I played an actual cd and let the music fill the spaces and hallways of my house.  I have to confess it’s always been a secret wish or unfilled dream of mine to have a collection of vinyl records and a vintage record player.  I was heartbroken when I had to let go of my mothers collection of vinyl records.  She must have started her collection from when she was a teenager or in her early twenties- I remember seeing a lot of Nat King Cole and Bing Crosby.  She brought them all the way from London to Cayman.  Unfortunately her collection was ruined after hurricane Ivan (2004), and it was only just last year I finally parted with them.  There was no way to restore them.  I just had to let them …
