Ellen Cuylaerts: A Legend in the making

Today, marks International Women’s Day.  A day to celebrate the accomplishments of women and to empower others. On Women’s Day I think it is important that we take time to support one another and acknowledge those who each day are doing their part to make a positive impact in the world, support those who are lifting others up, support those who are working hard to improve the lives of others and their communities, support those who use their voices to speak up about issues that matter to them and embrace their calling and passion to make a positive difference in the world.  They are every day heroes and legends.  We rise by lifting others up and there is so much power in unity.  There is so much beauty in supporting and celebrating the accomplishments of those who inspire and empower us.  I am so proud to see so many of the strong women in my life, from my sister to friends and my personal heroes, all who I admire for working so hard to achieve …

Wanderlust Wednesday: Why You Should Visit Garden Of The Gods

Colorado, is one of the most beautiful places I have visited.  My absolute favorite spot is Garden of the Gods.  It has an incredible display of red rock formations— a true natural wonder of epic beauty.  I recommend all world travelers should visit this spectacular place at least once. Why You Should Visit Garden of the Gods Garden of the Gods is famous for is red rock formations.  Throughout this National Natural Landmark you have a multitude of dramatic scenic photo opportunities.  There is much serenity walking along the pathways and feeling connected to nature.  It is a great leisurely walk with striking views and vantage points.  One of the coolest vantage points for me was being able to see “The Incline” (Manitou Incline, Colorado Springs)  hiking trail in the distance.  It is a hiking trail that is most definitely on my bucket list. Colorado, is a wonderful place for hiking and Garden of the Gods is one of the easiest hikes with paved pathways.  Be sure to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. …

Wanderlust Wednesday: Travel Junkie’s Guide To Columbia’s Hidden Treasures

Today’s Wanderlust Wednesday feature is by Michelle Lockwood, a world traveler and environmentalist currently based in the Cayman Islands.   Recently voted number two in the Lonely Planet’s must see countries of 2016; Colombia is gaining much more positive attention than it used to and with direct flights from Miami to numerous cities it is now incredibly easy to reach. Often having been associated with cocaine trafficking and the violence led by drug lord Pablo Escobar in the 1980s and 1990s; its reputation has long hindered its growth as a tourist destination, but in the recent years there has certainly been a resurgence of the beauty that makes Colombia iconic.  With exports such as Sofia Vergara, Shakira and of course coffee the world is starting to take notice of Colombia’s geological and cultural beauty.  Backpackers are now swarming to get to know this still hidden gem before it becomes the main event as soon enough it will be out of the shadow’s and on everyone’s South American travel itinerary. La Ciudad Perdida In English known as …

Wanderlust Wednesday: Another Reason to Visit Toronto

Today’s Wanderlust Wednesday feature is by Beatrice .  Beatrice is based in Toronto.  She is a world traveler and an emerging freelance photographer.  One way she enjoys giving back to Toronto is volunteering her time and photography talent at the Toronto International Film Festival — she is an official TIFF volunteer photographer.  You can discover more incredible photo’s by Beatrice on her website Photographed by Beatrice.   Toronto is the quintessential definition of Canadian multiculturalism. Being considered one of the most multicultural cities in the world, I definitely consider it to be the true heart of the nation. You can see this quality of the city at not only every street corner and every neighbourhood, but also in the festivals and events it hosts. Every weekend in the summer you can practically visit the entire world just by attending the festivities around the city! As the summer winds down, one of the most prestigious film festivals starts up. The Toronto International Film Festival, or TIFF for short, has been delighting its audiences since 1976. …
