Eco Eats: The Greenhouse

IMG_0266

The Greenhouse is a wonderful treasure here in Cayman for all the environmental and diver enthusiasts.  Located at Lighthouse Point, (571, NW Point Road, West Bay) just before the Cayman Islands Turtle Farm.  The Greenhouse resides amongst a spectacular panoramic view of the always inviting Caribbean Sea.  One of my best friends introduced me to The Greenhouse and it was an instant favorite place to eat. I love being immersed in an eco friendly atmosphere.  The food is delicious, with so many healthy options!  The menu caters to those who are looking for Gluten Free, Paleo friendly and allergy friendly options.  One of my favorite dishes is the Brie Personal Pizza! Yum! For drinks it is always a toss up between the ever refreshing Lemongrass Moringa Tea (Locally Brewed by James Pedley) and the Banana Caramel Smoothie.  My advice, have both, you won’t regret it!

The food is just one of the many reasons you will fall in love with this place.  The eco friendly mantra of The Greenhouse is admirable.  The are very supportive of local farmers, offering local produce and products from local vendors.  If needed they will substitute with natural and/or organic imports based on local availability.  Gotta love that!  In addition, to their support of local farmers they practice being environmentally responsible  by way of having a solar panel roof and wind mill to generate electricity.  Overall, this little gem is by far one of the most eco chic and friendly places to eat, with a stunning view along the West Bay Coast of Cayman.  Regardless, what day or time you come to The Greenhouse, the staff welcomes you in like family.  Bonus! If you love to dive this is a place to go!
