Eco Chic: 4th of July Brunch with Sangria

roses

4th of July is one of my favorite holidays! Fireworks, yummy food and time well spent with friends and family.  Over the weekend, I tested out some ideas for the quickly approaching 4th of July Holiday,- this Wednesday!  (not a public holiday here in Cayman).  So here are the goodies I came up with….

1. Eco Chic Table Decor

Every now and then it is nice to incorporate fresh flowers into your brunches, lunches, and dinner parties.  In the picture above are some fresh coral pink and white roses perfect trending summer colors!  The great thing about choosing roses is that later the roses can be repurposed to make potpourri and/or rosewater.

2. Sunday Brunch Sangria

This was my first time making Sangria and thankfully it turned out pretty good.

Ingredients:

1 Bottle of Red Wine ( I used an unfinished, half a bottle of Red Wine)

2-3 slices of orange

2-3 slices of lemon

6-8 slicked strawberries

1 small diced apple

Chill overnight, and enjoy the next day!

3. American Flag Inspired Fruit Platterplatter

On Pinterest you will find tons of 4th of July inspired food and fruit platter ideas.  This is my attempt of making a fruit platter inspired by the American Flag to give a patriotic touch to brunch.

Ingredients

Blueberries, strawberries, and mango.

4. Brunch

The goal was to make a yummy but healthy breakfast.  In the picture above is an omelet filled with spinach, green pepper and spring onion accompanied with crispy turkey bacon and grilled tomatoes topped with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.

Eco Tip- When dining or entertaining always opt for cloth napkins as they are more environment friendly as the can be reused over and over again.  Since it’s summer don’t be afraid to choose funky bright colors for your plates, napkins etc, mismatching items can start a new trend.

Enjoy your 4th of July! with love xo
